It all started as a mere dream for Phakama Nkomo (PK) who in 2008 ventured into music promotion as Pkay Promotions. From then the company grew in leaps and bounds and has over the years produced big brands and has curved its way up to dominate in events management, brand promotion, music recording and corporate branding. In 2017 the company was registered as CZ Underground Pty Ltd, (Reg.No: 2017/211426/07) now trading as (Underground Entertainment). From then it has seen tremendous growth in the field of Events Management, Brand Promotion, Music Promotion, Audio Recording and corporate branding. Underground Entertainment has produced and promoted many big names in arts circles, including the likes of Alick Macheso, Nicholas Zakharia, Martin of Ndolwane Super Sounds, Charles Ndebele of Ndolwane Super Sounds (Amangwe Production) Allen Ndoda, Jeys Marabini, Gift Amuli and Madala boy, Insimbi Zezhwane, Madlela, Zinjaziyamluma and many more. In 2019 the company acquired a permanent operating space (Hillbrow Theatre), which is now housing notable divisions like: Underground Hawaii Bar, Theatre performing Space and halls, Recording studio, Offices, UG Funeral Services and venues for hire, UG Restaurant which is infact an extension of Jozi Burgers situated in Milpark.
